Cometeer enlisted Metalab for a complete website redesign, encompassing numerous new functionalities. Their expectation was distinctly evident since the project's beginning:
"We want to sell coffee to a broader audience online, making the subscription flow effortless and aiming for a longer engagement with customers"
My main assignment involved enhancing the initial order page and checkout process, focusing on the first-time customer journey upon discovering Cometeer.
💡
Innovate product offerings and add-ons creatively;
🛒
Design a smooth checkout flow aligned with industry best practices;
🖌️
Infuse Cometeer's branding into captivating visual interfaces.
Based on user interview findings, I have identified two avenues for exploration within our design framework.
🎯
Tailoring recommendations through user preferences
Asking users how they prefer their coffee provides valuable insights that can become personalized product recommendations.
Understanding preferred coffee types (e.g., black, with milk) directly influences the suggested products for an enhanced customer experience.
By aligning product recommendations with individual taste preferences, the first-time customer experience tested significantly better.
🔁
Profiling users based on their purchase history
Profiling users based on their coffee consumption habits enables even more accurate recommendations.
For instance, if someone enjoys coffee with milk, medium and dark roasts are likely to be preferred due to their bolder flavors.
In this case, a light roast might be less appealing, as it may be perceived as too delicate and less pronounced when mixed with milk.
